Theatre Royal
Australia's oldest working theatre, the Theatre Royal in Hobart is Australia's only remaining example of a Victorian bijou-style theatre. Today it is a contemporary centre for the performing arts, utilising state-of-the-art technology used to exhibit live theatre, music, dance and entertainment.
Tours of the Theatre Royal are available to see the auditorium with its elegant Edwardian-style central dome, gilded mouldings and rich colours, as well as the artworks in the gallery and behind-the-scenes look of theatre life.
Tours are available on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, at 10.30am and 12pm.
