That's the official slogan, and it's not far from the truth. Queensland is huge, and the northern towns are closer to Asia than they are to the state capital Brisbane, its the fastest-growing state in Australia and the weather is almost always outstanding (as long as you like it hot and/or wet).
There are plenty of things to do in Queensland if you don't like sunshine, but they're probably not half as much fun. Scuba dive the Great Barrier Reef, cruise around the Whitsundays on a yacht, drink in one of the world's great live music scenes in Brisbane and party till dawn on the Gold Coast. See a map of Queensland to get a better idea of where the main regions are.
