A key anchor attraction of the Hunter, Maitland Gaol has a vibrant history spanning more than 150 years. After housing some of Australia's most hardened and notorious criminals, Maitland Gaol closed as a Correctional Institution in 1998.
Built in the mid 1800's, Tomago house is noted for its fine verandahs that look over pastoral land and interiors that reflect the lives and times of a family of status. The Annual Camellia Festival is held these and also tours on Sundays 11am - 3pm.
Everything about Newcastle’s Famous Tram is unique. Built from scratch in 1994, the tram is a genuine replica of the original Newcastle working tram, which was in service in 1923.
