The Cutie Curators, an initiative of the Abbey Museum of Art and Archaeology, invites you to bring your gorgeous babies and toddlers and join us for fun, creative and cultural play—based learning, specifically designed for ages zero to five! Held every Thursday from 9.15am till 10.30am,  during school terms, the Cutie Curators offers themed days packed full of entertainment to amuse and delight your little ones!

Cutie Curators offers different themes each week, including; Dinosaurs, Colours, Cavemen, Animals, Egypt, ABC 123, Shapes, Transport through the Ages and Easter. Kids are invited to participate, learn and have fun, while parents can relax with a coffee and socialise with each other.

Entry costs $$5 per child and parent/caregiver, or $$35 for an entire term. Additional children are $$3 per child, or $$22.50 per term. Pram parking and parent’s facilities are available and children under one are free if accompanied by a parent and enrolled sibling.

Staying overnight in the Royal Botanic Gardens sounds like a complete trip to us, but the researchers and students of Earthwatch will turn it into a multi—layered experience.

By joining the Melbourne Microbats research teams, you’ll get to enjoy the Moonlight Cinema in the gardens while waiting for the microbats to come out. Under the guidance of Dr Rodney van der Ree and PhD students, you will survey bats using harp traps and record ultrasonic bat calls with hand—held bat detectors and GPS equipment. You and your team will also investigate the diet of urban bats by using light traps to sample nocturnal insect fauna.

Jubeadilation Jewellery Workshops are suitable for beginners or anyone wanting to broaden their knowledge. Each workshop introduces a new skill or technique, ranging from wirework to polymer clay, with many opportunities to experiment with design. Participants’ designs can be bold and dramatic, or stylish and sophisticated. Everyone who attends has their own way of interpreting designs or mixing colours, so everyone has the thrill of making a unique piece of jewellery, and will be proud to say “I made it myself”.

Monthly workshops are held on Saturday mornings and afternoons in Landsborough. Workshops are priced at $$39 per person inclusive of all materials and Mad Hatter’s delicious morning tea  or light lunch. If you live in the Glasshouse Mountains region or surrounding areas, you can also host a workshop in your own home and invite your friends around for a fun and creative time together. The Westbury St Patricks Festival is held each year on the Westbury Village Green over the March weekend closest to St Patrick’s Day– We kick the festivities off on Friday night 16th at the local RSL or our Old Time Ball at the local Town Hall followed by the main Festival Day, Saturday 17th of March 2012.

Today we celebrate with Celtic influenced music featuring Tasmanian artists, Village Market, stalls, great food and of course Guinness!

The festival day includes entertainment for the kids with a range of children's activities including face painting an d a jumping castle. Children under 16 are free when accompanied by a paying adult.

Stroll through the historic township of Westbury and enjoy the breathtaking scenery and family friendly atmosphere.
