Caversham Wildlife Park

David and Pat own and manage Caversham Wildlife Park with their children David and Debbie. Initially when the park was purchased in 1987, the park housed a small collection of animals and birds on a modest 2ha (5 acres) property. A few years later, the park doubled in size when the family bought the adjoining properly, and the collection started to boom. Yet a few more years on, in May 2003, the park was relocated into Whiteman Park, and once again, more than doubled in size.

Caversham Wildlife Park features about 200 species and more than 2000 head of animals, birds and reptiles, all housed in a walk-through or walk-in environment. The park is now the premier development of its kind in W.A., attracting visitors from all over the world.

Such is the park’s status that some of its breeding programs are officially recognised by Australian Zoos. David regularly exchanges animals or birds with other parks and zoos to add to Caversham’s population, and for breeding. The park has bred its own wombats, Tasmanian devils, koalas, grass owls and cassowaries, which is a significant achievement for a privately owned park.

Visitors to the park are assisted by wildlife professionals dedicated to exceptional service ensuring our visitors receive the best opportunities for animal contact, photographs and information.
