The Casuarina Coastal Reserve is 8 km of sandy beaches, dramatic cliffs and shady casuarina trees. Behind the dunes lie patches of woodlands, monsoon forests, mangroves and paperbarks. The land is spoken for by the Larrakia people and although fishing is permitted, disturbing the rock in any way or removing shellfish at this site is not allowed.
Other features are the World War II artillery observation posts. The site also features barbeques, tables and shady areas so it's great for picnics.
