The Bathurst Lighthouse was built in 1900 as a result of culminatnig shipwrecks after the "City of York" disaster in 1899. The Bathurst Lighthouse was set up in conjunction with the Wadjemup and Fremantle Lighthouses, to create a navigational triangle to guide skippers.
It is located on northern edge of Rottnest Island, on one of the highest points on the island, allowing for breathtaking views for visitors.
